What data do we collect?

We collect only the minimum data needed to provide our services. This includes your job title and experience level when you use the salary checker, your country of residence for cost-of-living comparisons, your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter, and anonymous usage data, such as pages visited and time on site. We do not collect your name, phone number, or any financial account information.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide and improve our services. We use salary inputs to generate personalised salary comparisons, location data to show relevant cost-of-living information, email addresses to send our weekly newsletter only if you have opted in, and anonymous usage data to improve our tools and content. We never use your data for automated decision-making that affects you.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data to anyone — ever. We may share anonymous, aggregated salary data with research partners to improve our datasets.

Google AdSense — We use Google AdSense to show advertisements. Google may use cookies and browsing data to serve personalised ads based on your interests. Data retention

We retain newsletter subscriber data until you unsubscribe. Anonymous usage data is retained for 26 months. Salary search data is never stored against any personal identifier. We will delete your data upon request within 30 days.

ilovesalary.com operates globally. Your data may be processed in countries outside your own. We ensure all international data transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and use standard contractual clauses where required.
