The Netherlands has one of Europe's most mature tech job markets, with Amsterdam, Eindhoven (ASML, Philips supply chain), and Utrecht all hosting significant numbers of frontend development roles.

Salary Ranges

Junior frontend developers (0–2 years, React/Vue): €38,000–€50,000. Mid-level (3–5 years): €55,000–€75,000. Senior (6+ years): €75,000–€100,000. Lead or Principal: €95,000–€120,000.

The 30% Tax Ruling

Qualifying expats receive 30% of their gross salary tax-free for up to five years. On a €70,000 salary this saves approximately €7,000–€9,000 per year in income tax. This makes the Netherlands particularly attractive for international candidates.

Top Employers

Booking.com, Adyen, Uber (EMEA hub), TomTom, Exact, and dozens of Amsterdam-based scale-ups are active frontend employers. Many advertise roles in English with remote-friendly policies.

Job Market Outlook

Despite 2023–2024 tech layoffs globally, the Dutch frontend market has remained resilient. Demand for React specialists with TypeScript experience remains high across fintech, e-commerce, and SaaS.
