Product managers command strong salaries across European tech hubs. From Amsterdam to Zurich, here is where PMs are paid the most and what experience levels earn.

  1. Junior PM / Associate PM
  2. Mid-Level PM (3–5 years)
  3. Senior PM / Group PM
  4. Director of Product and VP of Product
  5. Skills in Demand

Product management as a discipline has matured significantly in Europe over the past decade. Salaries now rival engineering in many companies, particularly at senior and Principal PM level.

Junior PM / Associate PM

Entry-level PM roles in Europe: €45,000–€60,000 in Germany and Netherlands; £45,000–£60,000 in London; CHF 85,000–100,000 in Switzerland.

Mid-Level PM (3–5 years)

€65,000–€90,000 in Germany/Netherlands. £70,000–£95,000 in London. The range widened in 2024 as top-performing PMs increasingly command equity-heavy packages at scale-ups.

Senior PM / Group PM

Senior PMs at mature tech companies: €90,000–€130,000 in Germany/Netherlands, £95,000–£140,000 in London. Swiss rates run 20–30% higher in nominal terms.

Director of Product and VP of Product

VP/CPO-track roles reach £150,000–£250,000 in London with equity. German equivalents run €120,000–€180,000, typically with lower equity-to-base ratios than the UK or US market.

Skills in Demand

Analytics (SQL, Amplitude, Mixpanel), user research, A/B testing experience, and AI/LLM product experience are driving premiums. Mobile-first product experience commands a 10–15% premium over web-only PMs.
